Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Specter, operated by Loadstar Lab / Polymath Engineering ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Specter, you agree to these Terms.
1. Defensive-use only
Specter is a defensive privacy tool. You may only audit public accounts that you personally own and control. You must not use Specter, its API, or any output to:
- Audit, deanonymize, profile, surveil, dox, harass, or target any person other than yourself.
- Produce outputs that will be used to identify, harm, or discriminate against any person.
- Circumvent platform rate limits or terms of service of any third party.
- Resell, redistribute, or build derivative products using Specter outputs without a separate written agreement.
We log all audits. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section and to cooperate with law enforcement.
2. Account
You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@loadstar.lab if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel. Taxes, where applicable, are added at checkout.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel any paid plan at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access through the remainder of the period.
5. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
6. Acceptable use
- No reverse engineering, scraping, or attempting to extract the underlying models or prompts.
- No automated account creation or spam.
- No use for unlawful activity.
- No interference with service operation (denial of service, probing, etc.).
7. Intellectual property
Specter and all of its content (excluding your submitted data) are the property of Loadstar Lab / Polymath Engineering. You retain ownership of data you submit; you grant us a limited license to process that data solely to provide the service.
8. Disclaimers
Specter is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that the audit will identify every linkable signal, nor that your exposure score is a complete measure of risk. The service relies on third-party LLMs whose outputs may contain errors. Use Specter as one input to your privacy posture, not as the sole source of truth.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and (b) USD 100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your misuse of Specter, including any audit of accounts you do not own.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. We will provide reasonable notice unless the violation is severe, ongoing, or legally urgent.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Polymath Engineering is registered. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
